My new game already has a name, but sort of a "beta" name because it's actually really dumb. So sometimes soon I'm thinking of giving it a creative name.
The game right now has a few features but nothing very big yet. I'm still working on the beginning parts of the game.
It's not going to be like Save the Cave. (Speaking of which, you should try out Save the Cave if you're in the mood for a game that requires some carefulness. Just click here.)
Okay, well, there's a quick update. I'm also updating my sidebar tip.

Hacking Game
Okay, so I have a name and full idea of my upcoming game, so it's pretty much official that some time the game will be released. Again, it's not going to be called "Fights and Blood". And it's not going to be about living on land as a modern pirate, creating a place to live, and robbing for your stuff. It's going to be way better. It's going to be for nerds.
I have many ideas for the game, some written on paper. Well, I hope this game has a good turnout. I've already started the game. JavaScript powered and HTML5 DOM storage for saving data.

Game about hacking?
So I have officially started my new game. It's about hacking (no, not real hacking). It's going to be the game with a goal that saves your progress.
A basic description of the game is: you create and own an operating system that you want to sell on the market. But you have one thing that you must do, and that is to conquer some other operating systems and reach the highest "level" of the game. Then your operating system is ready to sell on the market. I'm still thinking about some new features, but I wrote down some useful ideas on a notebook and paper.
Please note that the game is designed for Google Chrome. So far I have not tested it in other browsers yet but I will soon. If it works in other browsers, perfect then. It uses HTML5 DOM storage for saving data. It is also powered by JavaScript, as always.
So I'm sitting down at the computer coding my game right now. Thought I should stop by and tell you what I'm up to before going back to work.

Writing again...
Well, I am still thinking about my upcoming game sometimes, but I'm writing a lot too. Thought I'd stop by and say hello.
As you might have noticed, I like writing a book when I have a good idea like I love to make a good and addictive JS-powered game. I will keep you up to date on my game progress as soon as I start to work on it a lot.

Nerdy!
Hey! Great news here! I have an awesome, nerdy idea for my upcoming JS game! I can only let you know a little bit of it, but here are some ideas that I'll share:
- Game will be absolutely nerdy
- You will own an OS with your own custom name
- You will fight other computers (CG players)
So. I hope those features above are enough to tell you some basic ideas. But there will be more. It should be a simple but addictive game. I'm sitting with a notebook and pen right now at my computer, planning my game.

Fights and Blood was an idea...
Hello, readers. My new PHP feedback form was created yesterday--and now you can sign up for a TheMadMail account in order to receive my emails and provide feedback for my website.
And now I have something else to tell you. Fights and Blood has turned out to be rejected--some sort of game idea inside my head. I'm creating a goal game that saves your progress some time soon--not right now, since I'm writing, but I'm going to be planning this game and my future games in a notebook so I know what to do.
What my basic idea is the type of game that saves your progress so you can play later. Verse computer-generated players and all. Try to get to the goal. Make money and buy soldiers. Attack the computer-generated players for stuff. Have an inventory. And more.
Well, we'll see. I'll just jot down some stuff in one of my notebooks.

What am I doing?
Remember when I announced Save the Cave, and that it didn't come out for a long time? That's because I kept thinking of ideas for it, and putting it off too.
And remember when I finally announced that Save the Cave was being worked on and that a couple of levels had been finished? And that it took me only a few days to make the whole thing?
I started working on Fights and Blood, my upcoming game, but I'm now going into planning mode where I don't code much and I just think for a while. I need to plan for this upcoming game because my coding skills are limited and I need to make sure that I know all of the coding required for the game. So I won't release Fights and Blood for a while now.
What am I doing at the current time, though? I'm thinking of working on TheMadScript sometime soon. Get version 3 or something like that out and make it a better language. I don't know. We'll see.
I've also thought a couple of times of making a game engine, but you know how much work that would be.
And then there's another thing. Something that I've thought of a couple of times in the past month. TheMadOS. I can't decide on that one either.
So what am I doing on the computer these days? Planning. Playing an HTML5 game called Private Joe every now and then. Playing Beat the Boot and Angry Birds less and less as time goes by. Writing music. Checking out to see if anybody's signed up for my newsletter (go ahead and sign up on my home page at www.themadcomputer.com).

Fights and Blood
- Create a place to live and gather a pirate army of fighters and spies.
- Fight and sell to get goods and money.
- The larger the army and the more coins means the stronger you are.
- All in HTML(5), JavaScript, and CSS.
- HTML5 LocalStorage used for storing data.
Please note that this game will be put up online but data stored will not be stored worldwide. Any information that you enter into the game will only be available on that specific computer and browser you used.
Save the Cave is HERE!
Save the Cave, my game, has been officially released! Can you complete all 9 levels without hitting the walls? Can you save all of the people in the levels? Can you unplug that time bomb before it blows up at the last level? Find out! The link is:
http://www.themadcomputer.com/games/savethecave.html
Save the Cave may have to load, but there is a loading screen so you do not get interrupted in the game with server loading. Have fun!

Browser comparison?
I have already finished Level 3 in Save the Cave and will start the fourth one ASAP! I'm very excited about it. I'd like to let my readers know that I did the first browser test in Save the Cave with the latest versions of all major browsers except Internet Explorer. Here are the results:
Chrome 12.0.742.112: Perfect
Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1 and 5.0: Perfect
Opera 11.50: Everything but the cursor image works
Apple Safari 5.0.5: No sound, all the other graphics work
I am using Chrome to view my results in Save the Cave, because Chrome is the browser that I always use. Of course, it's going to work perfectly in Chrome.
I am excited that Save the Cave works perfectly in one of the most popular browsers today! Firefox is used by many people and I hope that since Save the Cave so far works in Firefox 5 (it also works in 4 as far as I know), I'll get more people playing it. I mentioned Chrome first because this is a Chrome game, but Firefox... I'm impressed.
And Opera is pretty much perfect, too. It's just that the cursor that I used doesn't work because Opera doesn't support cursor:url. But the sound and all graphics work perfectly in Opera.
Safari doesn't support playing "OGG Vorbis" files in HTML5, but that's really okay. It's mainly a Chrome game. Maybe sometime I'll make it compatible with Safari right now.
So there you have it!

Tip of the Day
Don't allow games to waste your time from being a developer (or anything else). Read the next post I publish.
A very good tip.
A very good tip.

Save the Cave
The game is Save the Cave. I'm working on it currently, and started it May 8th, 2011. We'll see what date it'll be when I finish it! So, what's the game about? I'll write a quick description below:
Food is low in the cave, which is a crisis. But when some bats bring back some eggs near the cave, that starts some excitement.
One bat has volunteered to go out and gather eggs. You control that bat and he tries to gather eggs and bring them back to the cave without getting killed.
There will be a good amount of levels for you to play. When it's released, you won't want to miss out on the fun! Save the Cave will feature a few challenges with a few levels in them, and you'll have to steal eggs from killdeer nests, frogs, and other animals that aren't mammals. You'll want to stay out of sight or the game is over.
I haven't done very much, but I am excited. The game will be powered by JavaScript, and all of the objects will be divs. No flash, no animated gifs. There will be HTML5 audio.

Tip of the Day
When making a key-controlled game, you need to use different JavaScript coding.
What I mean is, use both "event.keyCode" and "event.which". Because Firefox and Opera use "event.which". I knew all along that there was a way to make key controls be supported in all browsers, but I never actually went to w3schools to check it out.
Killbot, my game, doesn't work in Firefox or Opera because I used "event.keyCode". No "event.which". So that's why Firefox doesn't support it.
Just a tip. Probably useful.

What's been going on lately?
I'd like to announce that MouseCars has it's start! The object of the game will be to use a mouse-powered weird-looking car to destroy other weird-looking cars. There will be ways to score extra points, etc. (No, the game won't be 3D, sorry. I don't know any WebGL.) The game will be only pure JavaScript with HTML and CSS. It will use HTML5 audio.
Also, another announcement is that I have added Google Analytics tracking to my official website, www.themadcomputer.com. So if you land on my page, the data will be collected.
Also, things are going well at home. Just so you know. :)

Final Decision
I know that I posted about an hour ago, but I have to say: I am final with my decision. I know what game I'm making. I'm either calling it Cursorcar or Mousecar.
The game might or might not be addictive. It all depends. All I know is that there'll be lots of levels.
The original idea that I had is not the same as this one. That old idea wasn't very good.
Progress updates will be posted every now and then.

Decision is not final but close to it
I have a game idea in my head but I can't decide if it's really a good one or not. It might fly (as in become popular) or not. Maybe it just needs some extra features. No, I haven't started it yet, but I'm still thinking about it. I'll let you know how it goes sometime soon.

Angry Birds: Addictive.
Angry Birds is a creative, funny, and long game, but it's addictive. In the top ten paid apps for iPhone, iPod and iPad. Gee. It's an "I HAVE to play it!" game. What kind of game I want to create. But I'm not making a game like Angry Birds. I'm still trying to think about what game to create. But I have completed more than 60 levels. In two days.
