Creating an Eye-Friendly Website

Creating a website involves making sure that it's eye-friendly to the user.

Sometimes using a background color and then using text that doesn't combine with it can bother a user's eyes. It doesn't matter your vision; I have 20/20 vision, yet these bother my eyes or are unreadable.

This is black text on a blue background.
This is white text on a bright colored background.

Those are just a few combinations. The first two are easy to read but bother the eye, the third is white on another bright color and has to be selected to be read, and the fourth is hard to read and looks as if the text has a haze around it.

Be friendly to your visitor's eyes and consider better combinations.

But even if it's okay with the eye, some color combinations can look unprofessional.

Also, be careful with background images. Sometimes, text can be difficult to read if it's placed on certain background images. If using a background image, put your text in a box. Look at this blog, for example, and you can see that most of the text, including this post, is contained in boxes. If you were to put text on my background image, you would see that it doesn't work, even though themadcomputer.com is written on it.
