Remember that advice that I posted on avoiding spam? Here's another way of avoiding it.

You want to make sure that you don't enter your email on sites you've never visited before unless visiting a guaranteed no-spam website. Don't enter codes like stuff for prizes. The site may ask you for your email and try to get you to buy things. This is a tip that isn't too big on the developer side, but it's important.
