Why to avoid the "basefont" element for formatting?
That is one of those tags that is deprecated and only supported in Internet Explorer. Yes, I know that many people use IE today, but you shouldn't use the "basefont" tag to style your webpages.
CSS has many more advantages. CSS can do the job for your formatting. Like I said in my first Tip of the Day, you shouldn't be using the "font" element.
