Save the Cave: Progress
Save the Cave has had a small start, and it has a menu and all. There is something I must say: You will not see the bat that you're supposed to be controlling. It'll just be a crosshair cursor or something that'll be useful. I'll tell you why.
I added the bat so that it would follow the cursor. But it looked rather cheesy. And an animated cursor wouldn't be worth it, either, because of where you'd have to move your cursor to collect the eggs. Why not just do it so that the middle of the cursor is the point where you want to get the eggs? The crosshair cursor will work well. Besides, why do you need the bat? A good game doesn't have to be too detailed, just good enough so that it's addictive. We don't need to focus on a little bat.
I have also figured out how I'm going to make frog eggs possible. That challenge will be set on a little pond where the frogs sit on lily pads, guarding eggs in the water next to the lily pads.
Snake eggs will be easy to illustrate, as they are small and white. They are not microscopic. They are similar to bird eggs.
I may not do any other animals until a later version. I want to focus on these first three animals for the first version. As you may know, most games made a while ago have a couple/few versions.
So what will I be working on next? Right now, the killdeer challenge is clickable (the button on the main menu that is supposed to go to the killdeer challenge). What I'm planning on doing is drawing a small scenery (I use Gimp) that looks good. I also need to draw a killdeer, and killdeer eggs.
And there'll be more to do.
